Currently is based in San Francisco as a well established author and an associate professor of creative writing at the Stanford University. Later, he obtained his MFA from the McNeese University in a writing program in the year 1996 and a PhD from the Florida Univesity in the year 2000 in the English subject. Before going on to explore his writing abilities, Johnson earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the Arizona University in Journalism in the year 1992. He was born on Jin South Dakota and was brought up in Arizona. Apart from being a novelist, Johnson also works as a lecturer of English at the Stanford University and focuses mainly on creative writing. He is particularly famous for writing down the novel The Orphan Master’s Son, for which he has won the Pulitzer Prize in the year 2012.
